Funeral services for Frank R. (Jimmie) Adamson, age 70, native of Covington, and resident of Hope, Ind., the past 10 years, who died at 7 p. m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the W. S. Major Hospital in Shelbyville, were held at 3:30 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. He had been seriously ill for two weeks and was admitted to the hospital the day of his death. The Rev. Donald Wade, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Covington, officiated and Tom Martin sang, "The Lord's Prayer". Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom McGurk, Guy Faust, Mac Sullivan, Frost R. Harden, Floyd Cade and William Grubb Jr. Mr. Adamson was born in Covington June 16, 1891, the son of John M. and Caroline Bell Adamson. He was reared in Covington. He formerly managed industrial cafeterias and for 17 years had been employed by the Leseure Wholesale & Retail Cigar Co., in Danville, Ill. He was a member of the Methodist Church and American Legion Post 229 of Hope. He was a veteran of World War I. He was married to Hazel Webb who preceded him in death in 1929. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Ruth Lucas of Hope, and one brother, W. M. Adamson of Madison, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
